About The Position

The Elementary Fine Arts Teacher provides engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in music and visual art within a unified fine arts program. This role fosters creativity, confidence, and artistic expression while supporting the school’s academic mission and community culture. The teacher builds foundational artistic skills and appreciation while creating opportunities for student performance and exhibition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field
  • Experience teaching elementary-aged students.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to organize student performances and exhibitions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in elementary music and visual art.
  • Teach foundational music skills including rhythm, melody, notation, vocal technique, and introductory instrument work.
  • Provide visual art instruction including drawing, painting, mixed media, and art appreciation.
  • Design cohesive units that may connect music and visual art concepts when appropriate.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners’ needs.
  • Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Coordinate 3 elementary music performances annually (Veteran’s Day, Christmas, Grandparents Day).
  • Organize student art displays and exhibitions throughout the year.
  • Maintain and manage fine arts materials, instruments, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support cross-curricular connections.
  • Establish a structured, positive, and joyful learning environment.
  • Model respect, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with parents and school leadership.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development.
  • Support and uphold the school’s mission and values in instruction and relationships.
  • Partner with administration in strengthening and growing the fine arts program.
