The Multimedia Art Teacher provides engaging, standards-based instruction in visual arts and digital media for elementary students. This position fosters creativity, artistic expression, critical thinking, and innovation through a variety of traditional and multimedia art experiences that support interdisciplinary learning and the school's arts and science magnet focus. Instruction is designed to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of all learners while integrating district curriculum, technology, and the mission of the school's magnet program. Inspiration for student projects stems from a range of areas, including art history, children's literature, emerging technologies, and topics connected to grade-level curriculum. Students engage in both traditional and digital processes, beginning with pen-and-paper planning and progressing to photo, video, and audio projects using educational technology. Both individual and collaborative work are used to support creativity, communication, and project completion. Learners explore a variety of digital tools and platforms, which may include Adobe Photoshop, stop motion animation applications, iMovie, and other multimedia resources using iPads and instructional technology. Students may also engage in design thinking and 3-D printing concepts through programs.
