About The Position

The Elementary Dance Teacher position is shared between Johns Hill and Muffley Elementary Schools. The role involves teaching dance to elementary students, ensuring compliance with curricular requirements, and contributing to the development of students as responsible individuals. The teacher will work under the supervision of the Elementary School Principal and will be responsible for instructing and evaluating students, student teachers, and volunteers.

Requirements

• Illinois State certificate in the teaching field qualifying the teacher to teach at the elementary level.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Ability to function effectively as a member of the school staff.

Responsibilities

• Teach in compliance with curricular requirements of the State and the Board of Education of District 61.
• Remain current on research, new developments, and literature on education, especially in elementary education.
• Participate in the curriculum development process at the building and district levels.
• Deliver instructional content effectively using principles of learning.
• Stimulate students and bring enthusiasm to the learning process.
• Develop goals and objectives for content and skills based on evaluation of student needs.
• Evaluate students and programs using diagnostic and achievement tests.
• Manage the classroom environment to ensure adherence to rules and promote self-discipline.
