About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in teaching or a specialized subject.
  • 1 year of teaching experience required.
  • Strong understanding of technology and online curriculum.
  • Proven experience as a teacher with the ability to maintain classroom control and teach high academic rigor.
  • Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with project-based learning and differentiated instruction.
  • Familiarity with the Leader in Me program and its principles.

Responsibilities

  • Present weekly lessons in a comprehensive manner and use technological means to facilitate learning.
  • Follow Gifted and Talented curriculum, written in Project Based Learning format.
  • Attend trainings in Leader in Me, brain science of learning, and building thinking classrooms as needed, as paid time.
  • Provide individualized instruction and differentiate for each student using blended learning models and project-based learning.
  • Create and distribute educational content such as notes, summaries, and assignments using project-based learning.
  • Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback to students and parents.
  • Communicate clearly and frequently with parents to maintain a high level of trust, using a weekly app to share learning plans and activities.
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings.
  • Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities, including 3-4 field trips a year to connect classroom learning with experiential learning.
  • Observe and understand students' behavior and report suspicions of neglect or abuse.
  • Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars and conferences.
