About The Position

The Breathitt County Schools (BCS) district serves approximately 2,200 students from preschool to grade 12. BCS is composed of four elementary, one middle, and one high school, including a voc-tech program. Alternative programs include the Breathitt Juvenile Detention Center, Cadet Leadership and Education Program, and Breathitt Day Treatment Center. BCS is committed to excellence with a goal of preparing students to succeed for life. Faculty and staff of our schools are committed to providing students with quality instruction and quality assessments (formative and summative) for student learning. Although technology continues to be a major focus, BCS is also committed to implementing the new Common Core Standards. BCS's mission is to partner with parents and community to provide equitable education and social opportunities with high standards for performance with a goal of Career and College Readiness for each graduate of BCS.

Requirements

• Valid teaching certification for elementary education.
• Commitment to equitable education and social opportunities.
• Ability to work in a rural school environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction to students in grades K-6.
