About The Position

This position reports to and is evaluated by the elementary school principal and provides leadership for the elementary school.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Educational Administration or related field
  • Oklahoma State Certification in Elementary School Administration (Pre-K - Grade 8).
  • Eligible for ACSI Administrative Certificate
  • Minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience
  • A strong, clear Christian testimony (Ephesians 4:1)
  • A lifestyle of biblical integrity (1 Peter 3:16)
  • Believe and actively support the OCS Parent Covenant, Statement of Faith, Statement on Marriage and Sexuality, Statement on Diversity and Core Values (all attached)
  • Have a conviction that God has called him/her to Christian School teaching (Romans 12:7)
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (1 Peter 5:2)
  • Maintain high standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity in all personal and professional matters
  • Actively involved in church (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • Encourages students to accept God’s gift of salvation and grow in their faith (Matthew 18:15-17)
  • Follows the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with interpersonal conflict
  • A spirit of dedication, teamwork, flexibility, and responsiveness
  • The ability to respond to counsel (Proverbs 13:18)

Responsibilities

  • Model victorious Christian living to students and families (Philippians 2:1-5)
  • Share and explain the gospel message to students (Romans 10:14-15)
  • Model and help students to resolve conflict biblically (Matthew 18:15-17)
  • Pray for students, parents, staff, and the entire OCS community (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
  • Work with the spiritual formation director to design an effective elementary school chapel program
  • Have knowledge and understanding of the Christian philosophy of education that will enable him/her to provide leadership and guidance in the school’s development of and commitment to a biblical worldview.
  • Assist in oversight of elementary school curriculum and instruction
  • Understand and promote the integration of a biblical worldview in all aspects of curriculum and instruction
  • Assist in formally/informally monitor academic achievement/progress of students
  • Assist in ensuring elementary school curriculum documents are current and accurate
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures governing the operation of the school
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of all policies, procedures, and handbooks
  • Respect professional ethics that require confidentiality concerning the sharing of information about children, parents, or staff
  • Attends and arrives punctually to scheduled devotional, committee, and faculty meetings
  • Maintains professional dress and appearance as specified in the Employee Handbook
  • Represents the school favorably and professionally to its constituency
  • Complete and maintain ACSI certifications annually
  • Maintain professional and effective relationships with the administrative team
  • Assist with the general supervision of elementary school students
  • Initiate, lead, and assist with elementary school events and activities
  • Assist the principal with counseling and discipline of elementary school students
  • Recommend hiring and dismissal of elementary school faculty and staff
  • Assist with supervision and evaluation of elementary school faculty and staff
  • Assist the principal in encouraging, developing, and supporting the elementary staff
  • Assist with professional development opportunities for elementary faculty and staff
  • Effectively communicate with students, parents, faculty, and staff
  • Participate in admissions interviews
  • Participate in elementary school parent conferences
  • Assist elementary school teachers in maintaining ACSI certification and requisite credentials
  • Assist with elementary school division meetings
  • Assist with elementary school budget line items
  • Coordinate with the business manager to maintain clean, functional elementary school facilities
  • Support the broader program of the school by attending extracurricular activities when possible. (Back to School Worship night, Big Bash, Saints 5K, Drama production, Athletic Events, Band performances, Fine Arts night, Carnivals, etc.)
  • Works as an administrator on duty throughout the year as needed
  • Conducts the end-of-year closing of the school process, such as inventorying of textbooks, furniture, equipment, etc.
  • Treats all school-owned technology (hardware and software) with respect, care, professionalism, and in accordance with the Technology Use Agreement
  • Remain current with research, best practices, and developments in Christian school education and K-12 education in general
  • Other duties as assigned by the elementary principal, including but not limited to carline duty, lunch duty, break duty, etc.
