About The Position

Cardiovascular Surgical Institute of NW Florida is an ambulatory surgery center located in Panama City, FL. With two operating rooms, the center provides high-quality, cost-effective outpatient surgical care primarily for Cardiovascular procedures. Owned and operated in partnership with Compass Surgical Partners (an ASC Management organization), the center combines advanced technology with compassionate, patient-centered care in a convenient setting. The Electrophysiology (EP) Technician is responsible for providing technical and clinical support in the electrophysiology lab, including preparation, intra-procedural assistance, and post-procedure activities. This individual ensures proper equipment function, accurate documentation, and adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in electrophysiology, interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization lab preferred
  • Florida radiologic technologist license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, electrophysiology, and arrhythmias
  • Proficiency with EP lab equipment and hemodynamic monitoring systems
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • RCES, RCIS, or ARRT certification preferred (reimbursed upon hire)

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during EP studies, ablations, pacemaker and ICD implantations
  • Prepare procedure rooms with required equipment, supplies, and medications
  • Maintain sterile field and support procedural workflow
  • Operate EP recording systems, mapping systems, stimulators, and fluoroscopy equipment
  • Monitor intracardiac electrograms and surface ECG rhythms
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance as needed
  • Verify patient identity, procedure, and consent prior to start
  • Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms during procedures
  • Recognize and respond to emergent situations in collaboration with the care team
  • Accurately document procedural data in real time
  • Maintain logs, equipment records, and supply inventory
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory readiness
  • Adhere to AAAHC, CMS, and state regulatory requirements
  • Follow infection prevention and radiation safety protocols
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
