About The Position

This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician orders. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Nursing Leadership duties: Controls, directs, and participates in the activities of the organization through a hierarchy of managers and supervisors. Responsibilities also include long-term strategic planning, determining the policies of the organization, and allocating its resources and making decisions regarding organization growth and diversification to accomplish entity's vision. A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. A role that supervises all levels of employees. Responsibilities that typically include: Setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results, problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex, and ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders. Job Overview The Clinical Manager oversees the daily clinical and administrative operations of designated unit(s). The Clinical Manager prepares staff schedules, requests, and allocates resources and ensures that patient care is aligned with the goals, mission, and vision of Tufts Medicine.

Requirements

Massachusetts RN Licensure.
5 Years of RN Experience with at least 1 year as a charge/lead RN.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team.
Ability to maintain and develop clinical knowledge, judgment, and skills.
Knowledge of and application of the nursing process.
Possesses strong clinical and theoretical skills.
Demonstrates proactive approach.

Responsibilities

Uses knowledge and expertise to identify potential problems and/or resources for patients and families.
In collaboration with the director, ensures all staff maintains competency-based practice based upon patient population.
Participates in nursing research.

Participates in staff interview process, provides direction and discipline to staff as appropriate, and orients new staff to facility.

Leads and/or participates in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary teams, committees, councils and special projects.
Plans, implements, and evaluates the delivery of nursing care in accordance with standards of practice.
