Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Phantom Works is seeking a Comms & Sensor Systems Engineer/Scientist (Level 2 or 3) to join the Phantom Works Special Technology Integration team in Mesa, AZ. The successful candidate should have a working knowledge of electromagnetic systems, components, and applied physics; have significant knowledge and experience with implementing real-time embedded hardware, firmware, and software; have strong analytical skills and knowledge & proficiency with physical modeling and simulation tools; and knowledge of advanced math & system modeling principles as applied to aerospace and electrophysical analysis. Position Responsibilities: Interpret highly dynamic or uncertain requirements to develop flexible embedded hardware & software systems within aggressive program schedules & budgets Remain application & product focused while simultaneously executing multiple technical aspects of vertically integrated designs Balance systems/software engineering best practices with cost, schedule, and system performance requirements Apply systems-level thinking and agile design practices to advance embedded system architectures Perform control system logic/algorithm, hardware, and software development tasks Provide end-to-end systems integration, test, and field support Work under experienced electrophysics engineer/scientists, software, and hardware engineers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Take ownership of tasking from start to finish and demonstrate consistent initiative with ambiguous or unclear assignments Maintain project planning of assigned sub-tasks; decomposing milestones, reporting progress, estimating completion, and communicating help needed Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
