About The Position

The Electronics Technician (Avionics Specialist, Maintenance Controller) is responsible for performing organizational level servicing, scheduled and unscheduled avionics and electronics maintenance on manned and unmanned aircraft systems. This role involves inspecting, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft avionics systems and associated components, ensuring compliance with technical orders and safety standards. The position requires a strong attention to detail and effective communication skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of MQ-1 experience required.
  • Level I: Four (4) years of Aviation Maintenance experience; Journeyman skill level.
  • Level II: Six (6) years of Aviation Maintenance experience; two (2) years of leadership experience; Craftsman skill level.
  • Level III: Eight (8) years of Aviation Maintenance experience; four (4) years of leadership and management experience; Expert and Supervisor skill level.
  • Must have verifiable training records with MQ-1 training.
  • Current Secret Security Clearance.
  • US Citizen or authorized immigration status.

Nice To Haves

  • FAA Communications License or equivalent military/commercial aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Associates of Applied Science degree or equivalent military/commercial aircraft maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform organizational level servicing, scheduled and unscheduled avionics and electronics maintenance on aircraft.
  • Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, and maintain aircraft avionics systems such as instruments systems, flight control, communication, navigation, and identification.
  • Remove and install avionics/electronic system components and conduct functional and operational tests.
  • Isolate avionics failures using wiring diagrams and schematic diagrams.
  • Program/reprogram avionics/electronic warfare systems as required by mission directives.
  • Perform aircrew and maintenance debriefs for avionic malfunctions.
  • Adjust, align, and rig avionics and electronic components.
  • Inspect and check components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation, and operation.
  • Operate and inspect powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment.
  • Comply with all COMSEC regulations and ensure the security of cryptographic equipment.
  • Assist with launch, recovery, post-flight, pre-flight, and thru-flight inspections.
  • Review and complete aircraft maintenance forms and enter data into maintenance information systems.
  • Maintain and inventory aircraft alternate mission equipment.
  • Perform routine FOD inspections and maintain a clean work area.
  • Lead teams performing avionics maintenance tasks and apply in-depth technical knowledge to diagnose complex maintenance problems.
