About The Position
The Technician - Equipment and Service at Airgas will play a crucial role in providing mechanical and light electrical fabrication, assembly, and testing of gas-related equipment and components designed and built by Airgas for customers in various industries, including Chemical, Food, Metals, and Specialty Gas. This position involves not only the assembly and testing of equipment according to technical drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), specifications, and procedures at the ALTEC or fabricator facility but also the installation and startup of equipment at customer facilities. The Technician will be responsible for training customer personnel on the safe operation of the equipment, ensuring that all customer requirements are met, and providing a commissioning report to customers upon completion of the installation. In addition to assembly and installation, the Technician will conduct service calls, advising customers on spare parts, food gas mixers, gas cabinets, UMX mixers, and cryocrete. The role requires running complex projects and installations, utilizing advanced electrical and mechanical skill sets. The Technician may also travel to third-party vendors and fabricators to supervise, inspect, and conduct testing of outsourced equipment, ensuring that all aspects of the service meet Airgas's high standards for quality and customer satisfaction. This position is integral to supporting Airgas's commitment to world-class service, exceeding customer expectations, and building brand loyalty.
