About The Position

This position is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electronic equipment used in our manufacturing operations, mainly in automation equipment. This position will ensure that all electrical and electronic systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with our company standards. The Electrical Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production equipment by troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a manufacturing environment. This position requires strong electronic knowledge, the ability to read electrical schematics, and expertise in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues to minimize downtime and maintain production flow. DESCRIPTION Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic components of production equipment, including motors, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), sensors, control panels, and wiring systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions. Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and improve system reliability. Diagnose and resolve electrical faults quickly to minimize production disruptions Install and upgrade electrical systems for new and existing equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Work with AC/DC voltage systems, high and low voltage equipment, and various industrial controls. Use electrical testing tools such as multimeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ammeters to analyze system performance Document troubleshooting steps, repairs, and maintenance activities in work orders and maintenance logs. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies when working on electrical systems. Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues and optimize performance. Support emergency repairs and respond to urgent production-related electrical issues during operational hours. Train and assist other maintenance personnel in understanding electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in Electrical Technology is a plus.
  • Experience working with industrial electrical systems, including troubleshooting PLCs and automated equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electrical and electronic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Solid understanding of electrical theory, including voltage, current, resistance, and circuit design
  • Proficiency with electrical tools such as multimeters, wire strippers, crimpers, and circuit testers.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation, motor controls, and PLCs.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with production teams and document work effectively.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, carrying, going up and down ladders/steps.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, climbing ladders, and handling heavy equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E and other relevant safety codes is preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
