About The Position

Assisting in the fabrication and integration of C4ISR system cabling into multiple variants of ship vessels (Navy & MSC) to include but not limited to: CVN, LHA, LPD, TAO, TATS class ships Assisting technical staff members in the fabrication, integration, testing, operation, maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical circuits Working independently or in a team environment to complete system Integration efforts to meet project deadlines and schedules Providing feedback to production management and QA with identified issues/defects in design or during the fabrication/integration phase with regards to cables or equipment racks Performing on-site installation of equipment and products in the continental United States within various environments to include Naval Bases and privately owned shipyards

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of a two-year technical degree and 3-6 years of work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (5-8 years of direct work experience)
  • Shipboard (private yard or Naval Base) or Gov't facility C4I Systems Installation experience
  • Proficiency in using cable fabrication hand tools to include but not limited to: Heat Guns, Hand Soldering Stations, and various crimp tools
  • Cable Fabrication assembly experience with the following types of cables: RF, CAT5/6, Heliax, & Multi-pin MIL-STD Cannon Plugs
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Must be able to perform daily administrative duties utilizing various computer applications: Outlook for emails, Adobe for viewing drawings, WTE for daily timekeeping, etc.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to follow daily instructions for assigned tasking and must be comfortable with receiving in-process checks for cable fabrication from QA personnel: Taking their feedback and utilizing it to fix issues but also retaining this information to lessen future impacts to set production schedules

Nice To Haves

  • Fiber Optic Termination Experience IAW NAVSEA 8477552 Rev C MIL-STD-2042C (Certifications a plus)
  • Understanding of multiple standards such as: IPC-620, Mil-STD-2003-5B
  • OSHA 10 Training - Shipyard Employment
