About The Position

GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for Digital Range Training System (DRTS) Electronics Technician Maintenance (ETM) I in support of the Warfighter Training Readiness Solution (W-TRS) Contract, formally known as ATMP. The DRTS program enables range modernization for tactical vehicle training, providing infrastructure and instrumentation for Abrams, Bradley, Stryker, and Aviation platform live-fire gunnery training and qualifications, as well as the ability to conduct Combined Arms Live Fire Exercises (CALFEX). The GDIT ETM I will report to the Range Team Leads and is responsible for ensuring Army standard of maintenance for all DRTS non-IT equipment and maintaining communication between the Player Unit (PU) and the DRTS systems during training events. This role contributes to the readiness of the Nation's Army.

Requirements

  • Skills in Electronic Equipment, Heavy Equipments, Preventive Maintenance, Training System, Troubleshooting.
  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • AA/AS degree or relevant years of experience.
  • Experience managing US Army DRTS EQUIPMENT/ranges.
  • Technical expertise in ranges systems, equipment, and range maintenance.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security practices.
  • Experienced in US army doctrine live-fire gunnery training and qualifications, combined arms live fire exercises, and After Action Review (AAR) capabilities.
  • Ability to learn the W-TRS Management Information System (MIS) for controls/recording all work orders and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) property control.
  • Superb communication skills.
  • Ability to attend daily range safety briefings.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid CDL Class C state driver’s license and post driving privileges.
  • US Citizenship Required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate workstations including AAR, range target and instrumentation.
  • Conduct PMCS of non-IT DRTS equipment.
  • Assist Tech III with repairs of non-IT DRTS equipment.
  • Apply standard operating or corrective procedures in response to computer output instructions or error conditions; referring issues that require further troubleshooting to the Team Lead.
  • Install and Deinstall Player Units (PU) on proper military vehicles and DRTS equipment.
  • Construct and install target frames.
  • Repair and replenish damaged targets.
  • Reestablish failed communication with down range equipment.
  • Conduct ground maintenance around all target pits, buildings, and service areas.
  • Use MIS maintenance control program to open work orders (W/Os) and order needed parts.
  • Monitor and ensure Player Units (PU) stay in communication with DRTS systems.
  • Report acquisition of supplies, equipment, and parts weekly to Team Lead.
  • Conduct an inspection and inventory of all assigned equipment before and after each live fire-training event for accountability and serviceability.
  • Support the required GDIT/W-TRS cross training plan to support other W-TRS TADSS on instillation.
