About The Position

Tessera is seeking a skilled and experienced Electronics Technician II to support technical operations at USAFA. This role involves performing advanced installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic systems and equipment used across campus facilities. The technician applies comprehensive knowledge of electronic theory and system interrelationships to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of mission-critical infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in electronics maintenance, troubleshooting, and system integration
  • Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related field preferred
  • Familiarity with basic electronic theory, circuit analysis, and diagnostic tools
  • Proficiency in interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and automation protocols such as BACnet and Modbus
  • Basic understanding of electronic components, wiring, and system functionality
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for this position.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain advanced electronic systems including communication and control equipment
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electronic circuits using schematics and diagnostic tools
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance
  • Calibrate and test equipment to meet performance standards and operational requirements
  • Collaborate with engineers and senior staff on system upgrades and technical documentation
  • Support emergency repairs, mentor junior technicians, and ensure adherence to safety and USAFA protocols
