Dean is committed to building the next generation of technical leaders. They are seeking an Electronics Technician 3 to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of SES, the technician will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Requirements

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; no clearance needed.
  • Requires a Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record in accordance to company policy.
  • HS diploma or GED is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program or Graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program.
  • An additional three (3) years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities (if graduated from an Electrical Apprenticeship program).
  • 6+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs.
  • Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including loading, unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials.
  • Ability to relocate a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Ability to work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  • Ability to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • Ability to use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
  • Ability to see details at close range.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills.
  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom Systems Airphone, FFT, DIVAR).
  • Windows operating systems & certifications and experience in installation of said systems.
  • 3 years experience focused in electronic security systems.
  • OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Executes various technical tasks and responsibilities within field operations.
  • Performs on-site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems.
  • Ensures the functionality and reliability of various technologies.
  • Conducts site surveys, configures hardware and software, tests systems for proper operation, and provides technical support to customers.
  • Utilizes and comprehends project Safety plan (JHA, AHA, PFW), enforcing M.C. Dean handbook and policies.
  • Participates in quality reviews of M.C. Dean design documentation, analyzing and interpreting drawing packages to evaluate constructability.
  • Tracks project metrics and participates in weekly resource allocation meetings.
  • Verifies correct charges in timesheets on projects.
  • Executes installation and maintenance activities within planned durations, ensuring completion of detailed documentation.
  • Tracks and inventories tools, conducts tool inspections, and organizes material ordering and receiving.
  • Conducts daily ORM meetings, ensures team compliance with safety requirements, and completes accident/incident reporting.
  • Participates in PITCO plan creation and build out, executing PITCO plan to ensure high-quality testing and installation.
  • Installs system raceway, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, and panels, adhering to industry standards.
  • Terminates, tests, and configures electronic devices, network and IT equipment.
  • Manages base switch configurations, participates in configuration of servers and workstations, and troubleshoots programmable components.
  • Ensures compliance with established QC plans and checklists, conducting quality control inspections and documenting findings.
  • Installs and maintains field devices, terminates and tests system components, and troubleshoots copper and fiber optic issues.
  • Leads commissioning efforts, tracks commissioning activities, and assists in representing M.C. Dean in meetings with owners and design teams.
  • Communicates consistently with MC Dean Project Teams, other trades, and customers, demonstrating dedication and collaboration.
  • Leads by example, provides constructive feedback, mentors crew members, and encourages strategic thinking and innovation.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills, aligning with M.C. Dean's vision, mission, and values.
  • Provides look ahead for assignment of manpower, material procurement/staging and resource planning.
