About The Position

The Electronics Engineer is responsible for sustaining engineering activities to include production support, process improvement, product improvement and re-design, cost reduction, new product introduction, and special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a closely related field
  • 3 years of professional engineering experience
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering design principles
  • Working knowledge of micro-controllers, memory, and digital circuitry
  • Working knowledge of linear and switching power supplies, op-amps, comparators, ADC, DAC, and other analog circuits
  • Knowledge of at least some of the following communication interfaces: UART, I2C, SPI, USB, Bluetooth, WiFi, and Ethernet
  • Basic knowledge of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing and applications
  • Ability to use standard electronics test equipment such as oscilloscope, digital volt meter, and bench power supply
  • Basic soldering ability for through-hole and surface mount technology
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Ability to program in C/C++ in a micro-controller environment is desired, but not required
  • Experience with standard office software: MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to department operating rules and guidelines
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and activities
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to program in C/C++ in a micro-controller environment is desired, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve issues in the electronics production area
  • Research and implement cost reduction initiatives for electronic products
  • Resolve component obsolescence issues on electronics products; This includes part selection and qualification and product re-design activities
  • Assist design and manufacturing engineering with the introduction of new products into manufacturing
  • Work with quality and purchasing to resolve electronics issues on purchased parts (PCB, cable, WiFi module, etc.)
  • Identify and correct discrepancies in manufacturing parts, documentation, or bills of material
  • Train electronics technician and assembly personnel in electronics test and assembly processes
  • Develop electronics test and process documentation
