Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position performs routine and non-routine production duties to disassemble and assemble electronic components. Responsible for the safety, quality and efficiency of the product which is measured to IPC & SRCE standards. Performs any combination of following tasks to disassemble, clean, and assemble electronic or emissions components, subassemblies, products, or systems: Reads and follows work instructions, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using IPC soldering standards procedures and equipment. Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, conformal coating, on parts and assemblies. Performs testing and inspection, using magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards. Sets up and operates special equipment such as torque tools (automated and manual), solder irons, manual and automated electrical test equipment, etc. Maintain a clean and orderly work area for safe operation as well as customer presentation. Adhere to all safety guidelines, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) preventing incidents or injury to self or others, understands and follows ESD procedures.
