As the Electronics Manufacturing Engineer at Applied Concepts, you'll plan and design manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical assemblies. Stepping into the role, you'll analyze efficiency, implement cost reduction opportunities, optimize production flows, and develop assembly methods. You'll also determine the equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Supporting existing products and leading in the introduction of new products to the manufacturing floor is key to succeeding as an Electronics Manufacturing Engineer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an electronics manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT), manufacturing principles, practices, and standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma is preferred. (Desired but not required).

Responsibilities

  • You'll be trained to create placement programs for our SMT lines.
  • You'll prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, working with Design to develop testing methods, processes, and process capabilities to build current and future designs.
  • You'll apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness. Determining root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommending changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods are crucial aspects of how the role impacts the company as a whole.
  • Understanding and helping operations with manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes is what makes this position a great fit for SMEs. Reviewing product designs for manufacturability or completeness is key to moving product and processes.
  • Providing manufacturing information by answering questions and requests, preparing documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures, and troubleshooting new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes are daily processes.
  • You'll identify opportunities and implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
  • You'll evaluate manufactured products according to specifications and quality standards, combined with incorporating new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
  • Communication in this role includes investigating or resolving operational problems, such as material use variances or bottlenecks, preparing reports summarizing information or trends related to manufacturing performance, and providing technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
  • You'll have the opportunity to train and coach production personnel in new or existing methods.
  • Finally, understanding the return on investment when implementing equipment, processes, or tests will be a key perspective in optimizing our processes and leading our people.
