About The Position

The Electronics Lab Technician supports electrical engineers by maintaining an organized, efficient laboratory environment that enables effective product development and testing. This role is responsible for managing lab organization and electronic components, coordinating inventory and supplies, and assisting with assembly, soldering, and testing activities. The technician works closely with engineering teams to support multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring the lab is properly equipped and operational to meet development needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Work autonomously, tackle problems, and handle several tasks and objectives concurrently.
  • Proficiency in both written and oral communication to facilitate effective communication with colleagues and clients.
  • Read and comprehend a range of documents, such as assembly processes, engineering drawings, testing protocols, and equipment instructions.
  • Mechanical acumen and a practical ability to conduct tests.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Institute for Printed Circuits (IPC) 610/Joint Standard 1 (J-STD-1) Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies.
  • Completion of an Electronic Technician Certificate or Technical School Training.
  • Experience in testing medical device products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support to electrical engineers during prototype builds, testing, and development activities.
  • Assist with electronic assembly, soldering, and basic troubleshooting in accordance with engineering direction.
  • Source, organize, and manage electronic components, materials, and lab supplies to support development timelines.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient electronics lab, including tools, equipment, and inventory.
  • Support basic test setup, execution, and documentation to ensure accurate and repeatable results.
  • Create and maintain clear procedural and instructional documentation as needed.
  • Coordinate equipment calibration tracking and ensure timely submission in accordance with established standards.
