About The Position

Ready for an internship position where you can apply your skills acquired in coursework into a real-world business setting? BISSELL is looking for a paid, undergraduate student to join our Electronics & IoT Engineering team! The individual in this role will serve as a vital team member, reporting to a functional Manager or Staff Engineer working in the Electronics & IoT team. The intern will support day-to-day tasks and gain exposure to larger scale projects and initiatives within the BISSELL product development cycle. This team's scope ranges from advanced technology development to production delivery, providing opportunities to observe and contribute to different phases of the engineering process. The program will run from May 18th to August 7th.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field with an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027.
  • 3.0 GPA or greater preferred.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule during the internship period, within BISSELL's standard office hours.
  • Demonstrated Leadership and Team Orientation skills.
  • Systematic, hands-on approach to problem solving (demonstrated ability is ideal).
  • Strong interest in electronic hardware and/or software development and related areas.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfort in presenting in front of large groups of Associates across multiple business functions.
  • Familiar or proficient in computer programming, circuit design, configuration management systems (like Git), basic Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science coursework, and data analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Embedded software: C/C++, Python, microcontrollers, protocols, algorithms
  • Mobile app and cloud: AWS, iOS, Android, JavaScript/TypeScript, React Native
  • Hardware design: Analog and digital circuit design, simulation & modeling, Altium

Responsibilities

  • Assist Electronics & IoT Engineers with research, prototyping, testing, data compilation, and data analysis to support Global Product Development projects.
  • Apply systematic problem solving to increase learning and contribute to solving problems.
  • Document learnings related to BISSELL Electronics & IoT development. Present findings to leadership and engineering peers.
  • Participate in company-wide Intern activities as requested.
