Raytheon’s Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) strategic business unit (SBU) specializes in multi-domain integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics, effectors and cyber solutions. Strike Initiatives, within ASDS, is our sub-strategic business unit focused on air-launched, penetrating effectors that provide highly versatile tactical capabilities and enable global strategic deterrence. Raytheon’s Air & Space Defense Systems SBU Engineering Team is currently hiring an Electronics Integrated Product Team Lead, Senior Principal Engineer, for its Strategic Strike portfolio. This is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to take a design through verification and Transition to Production (TTP) while partnering with multiple disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and oversee the Electronics life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, Chief Engineers, Chief Technologists, the customer, and so many more to ensure we design, integrate, verify, and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters! This is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in at least 1 of the following areas: Subassembly design, integration, and production support. Analog, digital, and power electronics design, integration, and production support. Deconvolving high level requirements into actionable design electronics and subsystem architectures. Transition To Production (TTP).
  • Experience in electrical sub-systems, systems engineering, requirement development, requirement validation, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Design, Test Integration, and/or Supplier Management on an effector-based product.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and/or Risk and Opportunity Management.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access prior to start.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a subject matter expert in technical briefs / presentations, proposals, fracas.
  • Champion all of RTX values.
  • Familiarity with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures along with DoD customer infrastructure experience.
  • Prior experience as a technical leader on a complex subsystem during Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) Phase.
  • Advanced degree in mathematics, physics, or related engineering degrees.
  • Systems engineering thought process with analytical skills background.
  • Highly self-motivated individual that can perform multidiscipline work.
  • Experience in project leadership, systems engineering and architecture and have a desire to grow to a higher level.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with peers, suppliers, management, and customers in a production environment.
  • Proven experience in balancing engineering process discipline and innovation for rapid development and program success.
  • Experience working with missiles or similar systems.
  • Experience in developing proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Own the scope and budget of a large group of control accounts.
  • Support Design and System Verification testing/Data collection.
  • Be responsible for the technical integrity of electronics, including the Technical Data Package (TDP) development, validation, and integration with Test Equipment (TE).
  • Update, maintain, and improve technical documentation for development and production efforts.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer within and across IPTs.
  • Collaboration with Customer and Suppliers.
  • Technical oversight of failure investigations.
  • Assignment may require some travel.
