Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electronics Installation Technician to join our team! In this role you will get to perform installation of navigational aids, communications systems, and weather monitoring equipment on airfields across the United States National Air Space (NAS). This position is 100 percent travel throughout the USA. All travel expenses are paid. Full benefits offered. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories.

  • Install new or upgrade existing equipment and systems such as navigational aids, air traffic communications systems, and weather monitoring equipment.
  • Complete projects on airports and at remote facilities in various environments.
  • Assist with site preparation work at ATCT, remote telecommunication sites, Enroute Centers and Terminal TRACONs.
  • Assist with Fiber Optics Terminal System (FOTS) installation at various sites throughout the USA.
  • Assist with electronics installations, integration and testing, electrical power panels, conduit, cableways, control cables, duct banks, AC power panels, racks for various FAA systems.
  • Remove and repair or replace components, wires, wire bundles, terminal blocks, and/or connectors.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • 5 plus years of experience with testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installation of Fiber Optics, other Radio Control Systems (RCE) and other complex electronics equipment.
  • Extensive experience with above and below ground electrical installations, duct banks, manholes, steel racks, towers and poles, surveying, concrete work, excavation equipment operations, and airfield systems.
  • Familiarity with construction quality and safety best practices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and implement project drawings, specifications, and client orders and standards.
  • Experience with the use of basic electrical and electronics test equipment.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Must pass detailed DOT background check to qualify.
  • Advanced electronics training from institutions such as junior college, military service, or trade school training.
  • Experience maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, modifying and installing various types of electronic equipment and related devices.
  • Terrific customer service skills – a history of working directly with customers and site owners.
  • Computer skills – experience working with Microsoft Office for daily and weekly reporting.
