What You Will Do Install, service, maintain and repair a wide variety of complex industrial electronic and electrical systems and controls, support equipment and associated systems used throughout plant facilities. Answer trouble calls on complex electronic and electrical systems and equipment with various mechanical interfaces and where symptoms are generally indicative of the cause of the problem. Work from complicated drawings, schematic diagrams, rough sketches and service manuals to resolve problems associated with various machine controls such as electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and electro-mechanical including electronically controlled machine tools, inspection equipment, test stands, test stand apparatus and other types of equipment which utilize analog, or digital logic, and solid state devices. Use test instruments such as voltmeters, recording instruments and various types of circuit analyzers to trouble shoot systems. Trace circuitry and check values at various points and check items such as connections, insulation, grounding and subassemblies for amperage, resistance, voltage and capacitance. Analyze findings and determine best method of making repairs, adjustments or changes. Devise temporary hookups, if necessary, and suggest electrical systems modifications or repairs during emergency situations. Check to ensure all systems, alarms, controls and safety devices are functioning properly before completing assignment. Notify supervisor when major repairs may be warranted and where difficulty is encountered in locating source of trouble. As required, install, service, and repair switchgear, transformers, and other high voltage equipment and associated substation wiring. Assist in installation, modification, repair and maintenance of intricate and highly complex electronic and electrical systems and controls. Work with and instruct lower grade mechanics as required. Perform preventive maintenance on various equipment and systems, and other duties of a comparable or lower skill level as required to facilitate maintenance and construction operations. Respond to production emergencies, report any potentially dangerous situations. Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and power transmission systems using multi-meters, pressure/vacuum/flow gauges, and temperature/humidity recording. gauges to known historical standards to insure proper performance. Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair the facility’s support services equipment including heating, ventilation, air-condition, process piping (gasses, liquid, air, and vacuum), and facility equipment electrical services (install conduit and electrical wiring). Install equipment to manufacturer’s specifications and test for proper performance. Perform regular scheduled TPM, machine checks, schedule and perform repairs. Electrical, carpentry, and plumbing . Blueprint / wiring schematic reading. This is a 3rd shift opening. The shift hours are Sunday -Thursday ,midnight to 7:00am.Work 6.5 hours and get paid for 8 hours per shift.

Requirements

  • High School or GED
  • Must have completed an qualified electrical apprenticeship

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical Lineman experience, and high voltage power distribution is a plus
  • Technical aptitude.

  • Willing to train on-site.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair problems with electronic controls and associated systems relative to industrial equipment operations (Motor Controls, Programmable Controls, CNC Controls, Relay Logic, HV/DC Power Supplies).
  • Ability to perform calibrations on electronic/electrical devices.
  • Good organizational skills and maintenance record keeping diligence.
  • Familiar with OSHA and general safety practices.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills to effectively communicate with all levels.
  • Requires well-rounded knowledge of electronics and electricity including a.c. and d.c. circuits, high voltage gear, solid state circuitry, microprocessors and power distribution systems, and a working knowledge of National Electric Code as it applies to industrial work.
  • Requires ability to use shop mathematics and apply electrical formulas, read complicated drawings and schematic diagrams, and use a variety of test instruments.
  • 2 plus years of relevant electrical experience
