You'll validate cutting-edge mixed-signal chips that make hard disk drives work—literally in the path where data gets written and read. Work on next-gen Preamp technology, solve real hardware challenges, and learn from both junior and senior engineers who'll help you grow. What You'll Do Characterize next-gen Preamp chips using high-frequency RF test gear (Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers) Automate testing workflows – write/modify TCL scripts to speed up validation cycles Debug signal integrity issues on prototype boards; run failure analysis and publish findings Partner with chip designers and vendors – test theories, verify fixes, optimize HDD performance Build test plans from scratch – design experiments, collect data, document what works (and what doesn't) First 90 days: Ramp on Preamp architecture → Support component testing → Ship your first automated test scripts This role is part of WD's early career development program.
