About The Position

Building Automation Products, Inc (BAPI) is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer to enhance our Engineering Team by contributing to the development of products that exceed customer expectations. This role involves all phases of embedded hardware design, including technical analysis of product requirements, recommending design alternatives, creating functional specifications, schematic design, PCB layout, hardware debugging, and verification testing. The Electronic Design Engineer will ensure that products are released to manufacturing on schedule, within cost targets, and with high quality. The position is located in Gays Mills, WI, and requires a minimum of 5 years of experience post-bachelor's degree, with a focus on PCB design/layout. Experience in wireless technology and HVAC is a plus. BAPI promotes work-life balance and is a family-owned business with a global presence.

Requirements

  • U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Minimum 5 years experience (post-bachelors)
  • Experience in PCB Design/layout
  • Bachelor's Degree (ABET Accredited) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • Specific training in Analog and Digital Circuitry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with typical electronics lab and testing equipment
  • Ability to handle several projects simultaneously in various stages of completion
  • 5 years of experience designing analog and digital circuitry
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Minimum of mid-level computer skills
  • Self-motivated, well organized, proactive and analytical
  • Exceptional communication skills, demonstrated ability to communicate respectfully, culturally competent and collaboratively
  • Excellent ability to communicate in verbal, written and electronic forms in a professional manner when working with employees, vendors and company contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Design HVAC/R products to provide unique customer-driven solutions that exceed customer specifications
  • Design analog and digital circuitry with an emphasis on high accuracy and reliability in different operating environments
  • Work with computer programs to design circuits and hardware; to write text; to capture, save, display, and report data required
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to understand workflow, design process, budgets, and deadlines
  • Create detailed electrical schematics and choose appropriate electronic components to meet requirements
  • Organize and manage detailed documentation
  • Troubleshoot/debug new and existing hardware
  • Test, verify, and validate designs
  • Use oscilloscopes (analog and digital), multi-meters, RF network analyzers, RF spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.
  • Provide ongoing support to Production and implement design changes as needed
  • Complete and implement design changes based on engineering change orders
  • Source materials and components meeting design specifications
  • Support the timely completion of the product design and development process
  • Make recommendations for design changes or manufacturing process changes
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation, archives, and reports
  • Maintain industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing related publications; establishing networks
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects and tasks as delegated by supervisor.
