About The Position

The Electronics/Cable Technician supports the assembly and integration of electronic and cable systems used in commercial, aerospace, and defense applications. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing team members to build high-quality electro-mechanical assemblies in a fast-paced, regulated environment. As an Electronics/Cable Technician your duties will include the following but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Electronics training equivalent to 2 years of technical trade school or military technical school
  • 2+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD clearance
  • Hands-on experience with cable harness fabrication and mechanical assembly
  • Experience assembling electro-mechanical systems, including small-scale assemblies
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Working knowledge of production planning and quality control in an AS9100 environment
  • Sufficient computer skills to support manufacturing documentation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced setting

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint, ECI M1, or equivalent MES systems
  • Experience performing testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies
  • Experience using chemicals in manufacturing processes (e.g., potting)
  • Advanced soldering skills, including: 0.4 mm pitch surface-mount components 0201 discrete packages
  • Experience working under a microscope
  • Knowledge of electronic component handling requirements
  • Familiarity with ESD and FOD standards
  • Current or prior certifications: IPC/WHMA-A-620 IPC-A-610 J-STD-001 IPC 7711/7721
  • Workplace safety is a priority at Torch. Candidates must receive and present an OSHA 10-Hour Training Course for General Industry certification (either a card from the Department of Labor or certificate of completion from an authorized trainer) within the first 90 days of employment. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed training prior to employment. Training may be completed online. Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble cable harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies, including small and intricate components
  • Interpret and follow mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and manufacturing documentation
  • Collaborate with design engineers to understand and execute assembly requirements
  • Perform assembly tasks in accordance with AS9100 quality standards
  • Support production planning, work instructions, and parts list development
  • Communicate effectively within cross-functional manufacturing teams
