Identify and resolve problems associated with electronic assemblies and or credentials. Maintains detailed records of problems, serial numbers, and electronic operational characteristics. Perform work within a "hot work" area while maintaining a safe work environment. Electronics Assembly Technician Performs manual repair and build of various electronic components to include soldering of electronic components. Assembly of Electronics products and credentials. Ability to utilize drawings, work instructions and knowledge to complete assemblies as required. Ability to create and edit process documentation.

Requirements

  • Prior soldering experience required.
  • Minimum of one to three years prior experience with the assembly and troubleshooting of electromechanical products.
  • Must demonstrate good math skills.
  • Must be able to use standard electrical/electronic test and troubleshooting equipment (VOM, Oscilloscope, PC, multi-meter, solder gun, etc.).
  • Must demonstrate good decision-making capabilities to determine when to contact Engineering or other resources regarding component failures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both in written form and orally.
  • Must demonstrate ability to utilize hand tools.
  • Must be PC literate and familiar with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision

Responsibilities

  • Replaces components that fail to meet electronic test parameters. May also replace connector wiring if required.
  • Perform delicate and detailed solder work under magnification as required.
  • Visually examines mechanical, electrical and electronic components, utilizing established standards, for defects.
  • Works from blueprints, diagrams, operation procedures, models, and standards.
  • Works with Product Design and Development Engineers, Process Engineers,
  • Proper use and handling of various chemicals to include solder flux, Flux Remover, Electronics cleaner and alcohol.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic component problems with the appropriate engineers.
  • Ability to order and coordinate required material for builds and repair projects with engineers, buyer, maintenance and stores personnel.
  • Ability to set priorities and work closely with various groups across engineering and manufacturing to meet timelines and quality goals.
  • Utilizes hand tools, soldering equipment, multi-meter, heat gun to perform mechanical or electrical product assembly or repair as required.
  • Be willing to work extra hours as needed to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to enter order manually for job setup.
  • Ability to create a BLS Job from scratch.
  • Ability to support Production if non-mechanical issues arise.
  • Ability to Build, Test and Program electronic assemblies as needed.
