Job Summary: The Electronics Assembler works under close supervision performing assigned assembly processes to manufacture Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military standards, Food and Drug Administration standards, and/or other assembly standards using visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions.

Requirements

  • Minimum experience of 2 years in electronic assembly/hand soldering inside of a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language
  • Basic computer skills, e-mail etc. (understanding of basic software)
  • Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required
  • Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity
  • Adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness
  • Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to work independently in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high volume setting
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Fine soldering certificate or equivalent experience
  • This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • IPC-610 Soldering and/or J-STD-001 Certification
  • Experience maintaining equipment on a stringent calibration schedule
  • Designated Inspection certification
  • Ability to perceive and pre-determine sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructions

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints and written instructions while interacting with Oracle ERP
  • Understand daily demand and complete all required documentation (IT tickets, NCRs, Facilities tickets)
  • Build assemblies by hand‑soldering small components and wires under a microscope per IPC‑610 and J‑STD‑001
  • Handle, clean, prep, and inspect components and subassemblies
  • Apply epoxies and solvents with precision, set up and operate assigned equipment, and follow safety protocols for hazardous chemicals and OSHA requirements
  • Identify and report quality or process issues, create NCRs, and collaborate with leads or supervisors to ensure product accuracy and quality
  • Participate in CBS initiatives (5S, KPIs, Standard Work, problem solving), team meetings, and area/machine cleaning
  • Proactively identify and help resolve safety concerns
  • Maintain flexibility and support operations as needed, including overtime and additional tasks assigned by management
  • Understand and/or participate with internal/external audits
  • Perform inventory cycle counts
  • May be required to repair/rework defective or returned assemblies
