The Electronic Technician will support Aptim Federal Services at Fort Benning by performing repairs on various pieces of kitchen equipment. CBAs for union projects typically include a retirement plan (such as a pension, annuity, or 401(k)), health insurance (e.g., medical, dental, vision), and other benefits. APTIM pays the costs for some fringe benefit plans for employees working on union projects. Under some CBAs, however, you may be required to contribute a percentage of your wages toward the cost of these benefits. Additionally, you may also qualify for paid sick leave, paid holidays, paid vacation, and supplemental insurance plans (e.g., life, short-term disability, long-term disability). The CBA contains the terms and conditions of eligibility as well as information about any costs to you. As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $36.53 per hour. Requirements

  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Meet requirements for: pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check, and MVR check (MVR points are subject to company policy)

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, troubleshoots, modifies, and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices associated with building automation systems (BAS) such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.
  • Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions.
  • Applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical, and the ability to read industrial electrical schematics and power distribution.
  • Examine HVAC machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble, dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts.
  • Replaces broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock and/or ordering the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sending the machine to a machine shop for major repairs.
  • Prepare written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops, reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
