BW Papersystems is seeking an experienced Electronic Technician to join our team! In this role it will involve installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures
  • Activate and shut down equipment as needed; advise operators and mechanics on safe procedures
  • Maintain performance and maintenance records for equipment
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues including wiring, switches, motors, and controls
  • Replace faulty components such as switches, sockets, gears, brushes, and armatures
  • Mount motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures; complete circuits per diagram specifications
  • Inspect work to ensure compliance with safety codes
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, software listings, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints
  • Select appropriate components for repairs based on specifications
  • Understand electrical circuits and have basic knowledge of electronic controls, microprocessors, and programming related to machine tools
  • Establish testing programs and troubleshoot machine malfunctions
  • Review and recommend electrical hardware specifications for new equipment
  • Liaise with manufacturer representatives during equipment installation
  • Perform machine calibration and qualification using lasers, vibration analysis, and electronic testing tools
  • Document calibration procedures, testing schedules, and results
  • Assist in modifying and designing basic machine tool circuitry
  • Adapt peripheral equipment for use across multiple control systems
  • Update inventory system for electrical parts and track machine tool history and performance
  • Monitor warranty issues and initiate paperwork for returns or credits
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Communicate effectively and solve problems independently and while collaborating with teams
  • Follow all established safety procedures
  • Perform facility maintenance as needed
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Associate degree or have 2+ years of technical college
  • 2+ years of working in an electronics background
