The Department of Corrections (DOC) mission is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non- criminal behavior. The Western Kentucky Correctional Complex (WKCC) is seeking skilled applicants for an Electronic Technician III on site at the institution. This position coordinates and performs the duties of technicians in the field of electronics and/or electronic component system. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Act as lead worker in conducting and performing technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic component systems, electronic recording, monitoring or measuring devices, and other electronic equipment and devices. Perform duties of technician particularly in more difficult and technical areas. Coordinate shop and field repair work to be performed. Maintain technical records and reports of maintenance and repairs. Conduct tests of electronic equipment to evaluate performance and recommend corrective procedures. Provide assistance to technicians in the interpretation and performance of technical problems and procedures. Interpret blueprints and technical drawings for technicians.
