About The Position

As an Electronic Technician II at SQM, you’ll play a key role in assembling, testing, and repairing advanced electronic equipment that supports INIT’s world-class intelligent transportation systems. You’ll work hands-on with digital and analog circuits, ensuring all components meet rigorous quality standards and contribute to reliable, cutting-edge transit technology.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Electronics or equivalent technical training (preferred)
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience as an electronics technician in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital electronic circuitry
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
  • Familiarity with crimping tools, testing procedures, and board-level repairs
  • Knowledge of Windows-based systems (Windows XP, 7, or later)
  • Working knowledge of IPC standards and ESD practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Visual acuity to distinguish fine circuit details, color variations, and tones
  • Must comply with ESD safety requirements in designated areas

  • Soldering certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and test electronic assemblies, components, and circuit boards
  • Perform manual soldering and rework with attention to IPC workmanship standards
  • Assemble and test electrical devices according to detailed instructions and quality guidelines
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Interpret and work from schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation
  • Complete administrative and reporting tasks accurately and on time
  • Maintain ESD protection protocols and a clean, organized workspace
  • Support other manufacturing and quality initiatives as assigned
