About The Position

The Electronic Technician is a key member of the Customer Repair (Returns) team responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and updating returned electronic products, including electronic fuel injection systems and ignition-related components. This position requires strong technical expertise, the ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation, and a hands-on approach to component-level repair in a fast-paced environment.   The technician will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Customer Support to identify root causes, improve product quality, and ensure timely return-to-service of products.

Requirements

  • Degree or coursework in Electronics or related field
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
  • Experience with oscilloscopes and electronic diagnostic tools
  • Knowledge of SMT components and PCB-level troubleshooting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automotive electronics or EFI systems (Sniper preferred)
  • Prior experience in repair, returns, or manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with firmware updates and embedded systems

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electronic fuel injection (EFI) systems, ignition components, and related products at the component level.
  • Troubleshoot firmware, wiring, and EFI performance-related issues.
  • Utilize oscilloscopes, probes, magnifiers, and other diagnostic tools to evaluate printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Interpret schematics, BOMs, ECNs, test reports, and work instructions to support repair activities.
  • Perform soldering and rework of SMT and through-hole components.
  • Execute firmware updates, programming, and configuration adjustments using software tools.
  • Perform computer-based diagnostics and functional testing.
  • Assist with QC-related testing and documentation as needed.
  • Document repair findings, test results, and recurring product issues.
  • Identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
  • Provide feedback on product quality, design improvements, and process enhancements.
