About The Position

Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies is looking for an Electronic Technician D, Telemetry supporting our government customer in Kekaha, Hawai'i . Supporting telemetry, as well as being cross-trained and cross-utilized in other departments, the candidate shall possess working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot, repair, inspect, overhaul, modify, calibrate, operate and perform related tasks on telemetry systems and equipment with supervision. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Will be trained to operate and maintain telemetry equipment and all other assigned equipment/systems. This position supports Makaha Ridge, Kokee, TOSR and MRSS. Assist with periodic inspections and maintenance tasks in accordance with published procedures and /or O&M guidelines. Document results of all maintenance actions in systems and equipment records. With assistance and guidance, troubleshoot and repair systems/equipment by reading and interpreting electronic/mechanical schematics and using simple and complex test equipment. Assist in preparation of system reports, preventative maintenance logs and other logs or reports as they pertain to the daily operations of telemetry systems. Assist with installations, checks, calibrations, and performance of acceptance tests on new and relocated systems and equipment. Assist set up, check out, operate, and monitor systems and equipment in support of Range Operations. Responds to changing operational requirements when directed. Assist in preparing and developing new procedures, procedural changes and modification proposals. Performs other duties as assigned. Environment: Travel to Oahu may be required This position may require extended at-sea deployment

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • Two (2) Year Technical School or equivalent training such as Navy “A” school or recognized correspondence is required. Two (2) years of technical experience can be substituted for each year of required education.
  • Four (4) years of progressive experience in a related field or an AS degree in electronics.
  • Fundamental knowledge of basic electronics, computers, electronic equipment troubleshooting and repair.
  • Possess and demonstrate knowledge of electronics theory.
  • Able to use, apply and understand test and measurement equipment.
  • Must possess the following PC skills: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Secret security clearance is required. (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous radar/telemetry experience is desired but not required.
