Cimarron is seeking senior-level Electronic Systems Design and Analysis Engineers to support an advanced aerospace development effort for the Phantom Works program in St. Charles, MO. This innovative program focuses on next-generation technologies for defense and flight systems.

  • Lead the development, documentation, and maintenance of avionics architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for system-level architecture, system-specific issues, and related engineering processes.
  • Lead the implementation of Open Mission Systems (OMS) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes across the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with specialty engineering teams to decompose requirements to the mission computer, ensuring performance, safety, and environmental requirements are clearly defined and implemented.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to execute hardware-software integration activities in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Work with customers and aircrew to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Analyze customer requests to assess contractual and technical impacts and translate them into actionable system requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership in evaluating emerging technologies, performing technical planning, and integrating new technology solutions.
  • Support technology demonstrations to advance system capabilities and program objectives.
  • Resolve product integration issues and production anomalies throughout the development and sustainment phases.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to fielded hardware and software across the product lifecycle.
  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access or other government access requirements, if needed.
  • 20 or more years of related experience.
  • Experience developing and integrating Open Mission Systems (OMS) architectures and solutions.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) development and implementation.
  • Familiarity with the Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI) message standard and Common Abstraction Layer (CAL).
  • Experience with system design and development, including component interactions, interfaces, and overall system functionality.
  • Experience with requirements development and management, including creation of technical performance specifications and statements of work.
  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
  • Experience with NSA Command and Control (C2) and NCDSMO interactions and certification processes.
  • Experience working with multi-level security (MLS) networks.
  • Experience developing and integrating multi-level security embedded systems.
  • Experience with cryptographic units and cross-domain solutions/guards, including access and transfer CDS.
  • Knowledge of 3U and 6U VPX/OpenVPX architectures, including VITA 46 and VITA 65 standards, with an understanding of trade-offs related to size, weight, power (SWaP), processing capability, and I/O density.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity and interconnect principles, including high-speed digital signal design, impedance matching, and advanced interconnect solutions such as VPX3 discrete coaxial/twinax cabling.
  • Experience with high-performance embedded computing (HPEC) and performance optimization within 3U and 6U form factors.
  • Experience with hardware design and development across all phases of the product lifecycle, from initial concept through flight maturity.
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and testing methodologies to verify system functionality.
  • Experience designing secure architectures, implementing cryptographic protocols, secure boot processes, firmware validation, and secure communications.
  • Experience with open architecture standards such as SOSA (Sensor Open Systems Architecture) and their application within VPX systems.
  • Experience utilizing mezzanine cards (e.g., XMC) to enhance functionality and scalability in 3U and 6U VPX systems.
  • Experience integrating and optimizing systems using 3U/6U FPGAs, GPUs, and CPUs.
