About The Position

As an Electronic Security Technician, you’ll install, program, and troubleshoot CCTV and access-control systems (including fiber connections), diagnose complex issues across integrated platforms, and partner with colleagues statewide to keep critical systems resilient and compliant. Requirements

  • Possession of a current Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) electrical license or appropriate limited journeyman electrician’s license for work assigned (e.g. LEA, LEB) issued by the Oregon Building Codes Division AND six years of experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of manual and computer controlled electronic systems.
  • A General Journeyman Electrician license AND six years of experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of manual and computer controlled electronic systems.
  • This position requires a Limited Energy Class A (LEA) electrician license and knowledge of electronics and principles of electronics with a background in electronic security.
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting CCTV and related electronic security systems.
  • Working knowledge of fiber optic connections, including testing, termination, and repair.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams and documenting technical work clearly.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as cooperatively within a team environment.
  • Proven reliability, accountability, and attention to detail in performing technical and security-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, intercom, and intrusion detection systems across OYA facilities.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of electronic and fiber networked security systems to ensure continuous and reliable operation.
  • Monitor and evaluate system performance, identify vulnerabilities, and implement corrective actions or system upgrades to enhance safety and functionality.
  • Collaborate with IT, facility operations, and security teams to integrate and support complex electronic and networked control systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, maintenance activities, and technical procedures in accordance with agency standards.
  • Ensure compliance with agency safety, security, and confidentiality protocols while working in secure youth correctional environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to staff and contractors to support consistent operation and understanding of security systems.
