The position involves managing electronic resources in the library, ensuring consistent access and reliable systems for users. The role requires collaboration with various departments and the ability to analyze and resolve issues related to electronic resources. The candidate will also participate in major campus events and uphold the values of Kettering University.

  • Develops systems that provide consistent and reliable access to the Library's electronic resources and establishes workflows that maintain discovery and use of all Library collections.
  • Uses expertise in delivery technologies and electronic resources life cycle to analyze the feasibility of technical platforms, resource licensing and contractual and copyright compliance in vendor negotiations.
  • Serves as a focal point across all Library units involved in electronic resources management. Uses technical and collaborative expertise to design a system of access. Analyzes user issues and leads the team to a rapid resolution.
  • American Library Association-accredited Master's degree in library or information science and 1 to 3 years of professional library experience.
  • Ability to perform various activities throughout the life cycle of electronic resources in collaboration with the Head of Collections Access, including ordering, licensing, activating, customizing, renewing, cancelling, and troubleshooting databases, e-books, e-journals, and streaming services.
  • Experience with resolving electronic resource issues promptly, including experience with maintaining and updating links in the library catalog, discovery service, and journal finder.
  • Experience facilitating consistent access to electronic library resources.
  • Ability to do batch editing and load MARC records from external sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather statistics and provide reports on electronic resource usage and expenditures.
  • Experience cataloging resources in OCLC and activating/maintaining records in a library information system.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and support the Collections Council.
  • Experience providing service and support behind the scenes and in person to departments, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Advanced-level Microsoft Excel skills, including spreadsheet formulas and functions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Experience with usage statistics and data visualization.
  • Experience working with LibGuides A-Z.
  • Experience with OCLC WorldShare Management Services.
