Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required. Bachelor's degree in a related area preferred.
  • Valid, active driver’s license, required.
  • One (1) year of experience as a Case Manager, or three years of work experience in a related field.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Good presentation, public speaking and facilitation skills.
  • Basic knowledge of case management, referral services and interventions in both group and individual modalities.
  • Basic knowledge of criminal justice system.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Problem solving ability.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the activities of Electronic Monitoring Specialists by assisting them in the work, answering more difficult or complex questions, providing guidance and training to new staff and reporting to management unusual or complicated case management issues.
  • Responsible for installing and de-installing electronic monitoring equipment on participants and forwarding documentation to the appropriate agencies and the Company monitoring center.
  • May transport clients to the center, community service events, job fairs, employment centers, clinics, etc. using Company vehicle.
  • Manages a caseload of electronic home monitoring (EHM) participants and clean equipment.
  • Manages a participant caseload using principles of the 'What Works' system. Conducts risk/need assessments and creates individual treatment plans for each assigned participant. Meets regularly with participants and documents participants’ progress or regress in Company database.
  • Facilitates evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) programs and other life skills programs to participants groups each week. Documents participants’ attendance, participation and progress in Company database.
  • Conducts orientation meetings with new participants to explain program rules and regulations. Verbally explains the participant contract in detail to ensure that the participant understands his/her responsibilities.
  • Sets participant schedules and specifies all approved activities based on sentencing information. Approves temporary schedule changes for approved activities.
  • Monitors participant compliance with alcohol or drug counseling when required.
  • Reports all program violations to the appropriate agency or official via the established reporting parameters.
  • May review daily summaries each morning and forward reports to the appropriate agency as required.
  • Reports on the status of program operations regularly to ensure all necessary documentation is prepared for court review.
  • Represents the company in contacts with elected officials and other public figures in the criminal justice system.
  • Conducts group and individual meetings utilizing motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Works with participants to develop and implement a rehabilitative plan.
  • May testify in court regarding participants’ compliance with court orders.
  • May screen participants at jail for entry into the program.
  • Provides face-to-face services to the day reporting center (DRC) participants.
  • May be required to learn and develop proficiency in Case Coordinator duties including opening and closing the office, and performing participant intakes, check-ins, breath analysis and drug screens, to provide backup when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
