Requirements

  • Must possess a state nursing license ( LPN)
  • Have a thorough understanding of the principles of best medical record practices
  • The ability to follow written and verbal instructions, function independently and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Personal integrity and the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel
  • The ability to adhere to professional code of ethics
  • The ability to relate information concerning a resident’s condition to the appropriate staff members

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and updating resident medical records in accordance with federal, state, and facility standards
  • Reviewing charts for accuracy, completeness, and ongoing compliance
  • Supporting clinical teams with proper documentation practices and audits
  • Managing electronic health records and coordinating timely report completion
  • Monitoring, tracking, and analyzing infection data and trends
  • Conducting facility rounds to ensure infection prevention standards are consistently met
  • Educating staff on infection control procedures, PPE use, and current best practices
  • Leading outbreak prevention and response efforts
  • Working closely with department managers, nursing staff, and leadership on infection‑related policies and compliance
  • Maintaining alignment with CDC, ISDH, and CMS regulations
  • Assist nursing staff with clinical support as needed
  • Participate in care plan discussions and quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with physicians and families to maintain continuity of care
  • Promote Englewood’s wellness‑focused, resident‑centered philosophy of living well through personalized support
