The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Support Specialist at Chestnut Health Systems is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of EMR systems, providing vital support and administration. This role involves managing user accounts, overseeing system maintenance, responding to help desk requests, and collaborating with clinical management to enhance system functionality. The specialist will also develop training materials and documentation to support end-users and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.

  • Attain expertise in Chestnut's EMR systems, serving as the primary support and administrator.
  • Manage user accounts, security roles, and permissions for both staff and external clinical systems.
  • Oversee regular maintenance activities, such as software patching, ensuring effective use of EMR systems as decision support tools.
  • Respond quickly to help desk requests and collaborate with other Data Team members to solve EMR-related problems.
  • Work closely with clinical management and the Data Systems Manager to provide end-user and 'train-the-trainer' training for assigned EMR systems.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, user documentation, and procedures to ensure systems run smoothly.
  • Integrate EMR systems with other data platforms at Chestnut, enhancing system functionality.
  • Help drive continuous improvement by contributing to system enhancements and exploring new integration methods.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain confidentiality.
  • Associate's degree in health information management, healthcare administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in EMR support, database administration, or report writing.
  • At least one year of experience supporting EMR systems, or three years of equivalent experience in database administration, report writing, or EMR support.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles and solve system issues.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and maintain system documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus.
