MDA is seeking a Electronic Hardware Design Engineer. This position is located at Beavercreek, OH.

  • Perform design and development of complex high speed digital circuit card assemblies integrating FPGAs and microprocessors through high-speed serial networks
  • Take designs from concept through schematic capture, layout, assembly, debug, and production test
  • Collaborate with peers and other engineering disciplines in the planning, design, and prototyping of complex digital systems
  • Identify and implement risk reduction activities for your projects
  • Interface with vendors and contractors
  • Advise others through design reviews and implementation of industry best practices
  • Work under general direction to independently determine and develop viable solutions
  • Define system and CCA level specifications from dynamic, loose requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience
  • Full custom circuit card design cycle (concept through production) experience involving FPGAs, DDR memory, high speed serdes, and microprocessors
  • Experience defining interfaces with software teams for microprocessors/microcontrollers
  • Hands on use of laboratory test equipment such as: oscilloscopes, function generators, DMM, BERT scopes, network analyzers and signal analyzers
  • Ability to solder and modify prototypes to prove a working design
  • Ability to create test plans and assembly instructions
  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary level of US Government security clearance per customer requirements
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Schematic capture and layout using Mentor Graphics Xpedition tools
  • High speed digital signal integrity simulation using Hyperlynx, HFSS, or ADS
  • Experience developing embedded software and software using C, C++
  • Experience RTL development using SystemVerilog
  • Familiarity with AMD FPGAs and design tools
