About The Position

This position involves providing engineering and field support for the Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and related systems within the Power System Control (PSC) Technical Services group located in Vancouver, Washington.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering.
  • 10 years of experience with electronic engineering concepts relevant to SCADA systems.
  • 5 years of experience in designing, installing, or maintaining SCADA systems.
  • 5 years of experience with Ethernet or packet-based operational technology networks.
  • Experience with SCADA protocols such as DNP3 and Modbus.
  • 1 year of field support service experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • 1 year of hands-on troubleshooting or maintenance with common utility RTU platforms.
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system.
  • Experience with script programming.
  • Experience in developing HMI/MMI interfaces.
  • Experience in conducting classroom training or laboratory workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical SCADA engineering expertise and act as a Subject Matter Expert for field technicians, design engineers, construction crews, and technical oversight committees.
  • Develop maintenance standards and work guides, emphasizing safety and utilizing asset management tools such as Sunflower, Cascade, and Asset Suite.
  • Document procedures for installation, use, and troubleshooting of SCADA hardware and software.
  • Validate proper data integration between field and control center systems.
  • Investigate and analyze operating problems with complex electronic systems, report findings, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing standards for planning and design documentation for new equipment and technology.
  • Prepare detailed network specifications, including diagrams, charts, and equipment configurations.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and support test equipment used for SCADA systems.
  • Prepare and deliver formal training curriculum for SCADA systems.
  • Monitor and guide supply chain and Warehouse staff for spare parts levels.
  • Provide recommendations for the disposition of equipment.
  • Perform engineering studies incorporating technological advances and design standards.
  • Compile and distribute technical results and reports on system performance.
  • Coordinate plans of service with stakeholders and implement approved plans.
  • Draft work statements and verify maintenance support agreements.
  • Provide project/task updates.
