About The Position

The Technical Electronic Components Buyer II will be responsible for managing purchasing projects that impact multiple corporate facilities within a large Automotive Manufacturing company. This role involves conducting cost analyses of components, understanding market intelligence, and leveraging negotiation tactics with vendors. The position also requires collaboration with engineering teams to identify cost reduction opportunities throughout the product lifecycle, making it a significant role with ample growth potential.

Requirements

• BS degree with a focus in Business/Engineering (Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, etc.).
• 2+ years of Direct Material Purchasing experience, preferably in automotive.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Experience working on multi-project timelines.
• Proficient with cost/market analysis and understanding of component cost drivers.

Nice To Haves

• Professional certifications (CPP, CSCP, CPPB, etc.).
• Experience working with Oracle.
• Knowledge of VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering).
• Familiarity with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
• Experience working with international vendors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 'should be cost' analyses of components within assigned commodity group.
• Evaluate Supplier Quotation Cost Breakdown Details and market trends.
• Create benchmarks for component costs.
• Leverage negotiation tactics when working with vendors.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize costs.
