Job Summary: The Electronic Assembler (2nd Shift – 2:30p – 11p M-F) is responsible for performing a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations. The technician will assemble mechanical parts, wire electronic components, and load firmware into devices, ensuring a high standard of workmanship. Working in accordance with manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, process documents, travelers, drawings), the Assembler I will contribute to the production of sub-units or complete units and perform functional testing of devices and components. This role will involve inspecting work in progress to meet quality and engineering specifications. This facility is located in Paeonian Springs, VA and the role is onsite.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED certificate is required.
  • Prior experience in wiring or assembly is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow assembly instructions and work with hand tools and power tools.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including assembly instructions, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude, working well with others.
  • Maintain a high sense of urgency, diligence, and adaptability, with a focus on safety.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and lift for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to [weight in pounds] as necessary for the assembly of products.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical parts and wire electronic components as per assembly instructions, process documents, travelers, and drawings.
  • Perform basic functional testing on assembled devices and components to ensure proper operation.
  • Load firmware into devices and complete final assembly and testing of electronic assemblies and cables.
  • Conduct inspections on work in progress to verify compliance with quality and engineering specifications.
  • Complete necessary production and quality-related documentation to track assembly progress and issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workstation at all times to meet safety standards.
  • Organize and clean the production facilities to ensure an efficient working environment.
  • Work with other team members to meet key performance metrics, including safety, quality, productivity, and schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure all tasks are completed according to schedule.
  • Be available to work overtime as needed.
  • Complete other tasks as necessary to support the production team.
