About The Position

Perform complex assembly operations on electronic components and subassemblies for aerospace and defense systems. Interpret and follow detailed visual aids, engineering drawings, and written instructions to assemble, modify, or rework units. Hand-load and solder PCB assemblies, including fine-pitch components, following IPC-J-STD and IPC-D-610 standards. Identify and repair soldering anomalies, working with both lead and lead-free solder under a microscope. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to drive continuous improvement and implement best practices. Participate in offsite training to maintain industry certifications as required. Actively contribute ideas for process improvement and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • U.S. citizenship (required due to national security contracts).
  • 3–5 years of J-STD soldering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Certification to IPC-J-STD and IPC-D-610 standards (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify electronic component values.
  • Working knowledge of ESD prevention and product handling.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a self-starter who can plan, execute, and complete tasks independently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Hollister, CA up to 75% during the first 90 days for training and onboarding

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of J-STD soldering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
