The Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist position at Franciscan Health Indianapolis involves providing safe procedural environments, documenting and reporting critical test results, and conducting EEG and other neurodiagnostic testing.   • Provides a safe procedural environment by recognizing and responding to life-threatening situations.
  • Recognizes, documents, and reports critical test results to the designated interpreting physician.
  • Documents pertinent patient medical history, including current medications and circumstances surrounding reported symptoms.
  • Customizes the recording procedure appropriately as per referral evaluation, patient history, or observed EEG waveforms.
  • Differentiates artifacts from cerebral or peripheral nerve responses and troubleshoots possible causes, documenting steps taken to alleviate such artifacts.
  • Disinfects testing room, equipment, and supplies in accordance with departmental/facility infection control policies.
  • Ensures procedures are appropriately logged, charged, and distributed to the interpreting physician.
  • Identifies and monitors opportunities for performance improvement of services.
  • Determines any contraindications to testing or monitoring protocols based on patient history or physician orders.
  • Conducts EEG and other neurodiagnostic testing appropriate to the patient's age and according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Participates in on-call rotation to provide off-shift coverage, including weekends and holidays, as required.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year healthcare experience
  • Registered Electroencephalogram Technologist (R. EEG T) within 2 years of hire
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Certificate in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology
  • 1 year of Neuro diagnostics (EEG / sleep) experience
