The Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technologist plays a crucial role in conducting EEG examinations and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during the process. This position involves preparing patients, performing EEG tests, and managing the data collected, while also maintaining the necessary equipment. The END Technologist is expected to demonstrate proficiency in technical skills and contribute to the training of junior staff.

  • Conduct EEG examinations under general supervision.
  • Prepare patients for EEG tests and explain the procedure to them and their families.
  • Summarize the patient's neurological status and clinical history from various sources.
  • Adapt instrumentation methods to achieve optimal results based on patient history and EEG findings.
  • Provide appropriate patient care and detailed observations during seizures and other emergencies.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure patient safety during procedures.
  • Maintain daily inter-personal relationships and communication with the clinical team.
  • Participate in educational activities and assist in program development and laboratory organization.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Competency with the 10/20 system of electrode placement.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from AHA required.
  • Ability to perform accurate measurement and application of electrodes for EEG.
  • Skill in collecting relevant patient history and performing bio calibrations.
  • Experience in developing rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Superior communication skills in interacting with healthcare professionals and patients.
