About The Position

Amentum is now hiring for an exciting position in support of the Prototype Integration Facility (PIF) of the Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Center (C5ISR) at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. This project will provide the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command (T2COM) and Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) integration of C5ISR operational prototypes onto a range Military Weapon Systems & Platforms (air, ground & sea) as well as performing C5ISR prototyping, integration, and testing support based on Real-World emerging needs of the Warfighter. We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a versatile, hands-on professional responsible for the complete lifecycle of assembly, from fabricating complex electrical and electromechanical components to integrating mechanical and electronic systems into military platforms, including vehicles, shelters and transit cases. This position demands a commitment to quality, precision, and the ability to solve complex challenges in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who can work well independently and as part of a larger team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a role combining electrical fabrication and mechanical integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in crimping, splicing, and soldering techniques.
  • Experience with a wide range of hand, power, and calibrated tools.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with an adaptable, problem-solving mindset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to rapidly respond to changing requirements and schedules.
  • Ability to work effectively in confined spaces.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
  • Please note, US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or graduate of a technical school.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • IPC-620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience with fiber optic termination and testing.
  • Familiarity with military standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461).
  • Experience in the assembly of ruggedized military connectors, cables, and systems.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with network hardware installation and basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Fabrication & Assembly: Fabricate, route, and terminate a variety of cable types (Power, RF/Coaxial, Data, Fiber Optic) and perform expert-level crimping, splicing, soldering, and environmental sealing/potting to ensure robust and reliable connections.
  • System Integration: Integrate mechanical and electronic components and sub-assemblies onto vehicles and shelters, ensuring proper fit, form, and function in accordance with all drawings and procedures.
  • Quality & Compliance: Perform all work in accordance with existing quality processes, military standards (MIL-STD), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and assembly instructions.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Utilize electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, RF analyzers, etc.) to validate and troubleshoot cables, assemblies, and fully integrated systems, diagnosing and resolving complex electro-mechanical issues down to the root cause.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with the engineering team to refine designs, redline drawings, and improve manufacturing processes, while meticulously documenting all work performed, test results, and modifications.
