Role Overview We’re seeking an Electromechanical Technician to own the power, controls, and instrumentation wiring at our testing facility in San Bernardino. The ideal candidate has experience fabricating and assembling mixed voltage industrial control panels, and connecting to common industrial components such as AC motors, power supplies, sensors, and server racks. You’ll work cross-functionally with other Arbor technicians, engineers, and technical staff from other organizations to build, maintain, and troubleshoot test systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional working experience as a technician in manufacturing, aerospace, industry, or have reached journeyman electrician.
  • Proficiency with power tools, mechanical assembly, soldering, and cable termination tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical build and safety standards including NFPA 70 (NEC), UL508A.
  • Read and red line electrical wiring and panel schematics.
  • Comfort working on industrial electronics with mixed DC/AC voltages (24 Vdc, 120/240/480 VAC), and single phase and three phase AC power.
  • Strong background in electrical safety and best practices.
  • Experience using common electrical testing tools such as the digital multimeter (DMM), network cable tester, and thermocouple calibrator.
  • Experience wiring AC motors such as pumps, compressors, and fans.
  • Experience working around hazardous systems (high pressure, high energy, hazardous gases/fluids).
  • Desire to work cross functionally on complex problems in startup environment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of control systems including experience troubleshooting and performing maintenance on PLC, DAQ, and HMI based systems.
  • Experience working on printed circuit boards (PCBs) including testing and rework.
  • Experience with electrical test and measurement tools such as oscilloscope, signal generator, and lab power supplies.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform well under pressure.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Soldering, crimping, and terminating cables and connectors according to specifications including Molex, Dsub, RJ45, and M12.
  • Cable organization including labeling, routing, and management.
  • Electrical and controls panel fabrication, assembly, and modification.
  • Work with Arbor engineers to develop and review designs, installation plans, and commissioning procedures.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and process technicians to ensure smooth build and testing of the full system.
  • Perform electrical safety procedures including lock-out-tag-out (LOTO), and checks of protective equipment (PPE).
